It's not many schools that can boast a beer drinking song as a part of their childhood memories. I remember singing this at St. Albert when I went there from 1953 (a year after it opened til I graduated in 1961. This song was passed down from kid to kid on the playground in true oral tradition. It's a take off of the old Notre Dame drinking song.
Give a cheer, give a cheer
For the boys who brew the beer
In the cellars of Albert the Great.
They are brave they are bold
For the whiskey they can hold
In the cellars of Albert the Great
For it's run, run, run
I think I hear a nun
Grab all the bottles and run
If a sister should appear
Say, "Sister, have a beer!
In the cellar of Albert the Great.
