Hi Marilyn - I do not know if you knew Mary Louise Schneider who was an English teacher at Notre Dame Academy. She was one
of the first lay teachers that we had, along with Miss Marie Mueller, who is now Sister Grace Mueller at St. Luke Church, Belleville.
We had Miss Schneider in the 1950 - 1951 year, I am not sure of what other years that she taught. She died this past week.

Mary Louise Schneider, 88, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Jan. 3, 1924, died
Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at her residence.
Mary Louise attended St. Joseph's Grade School, St. Teresa's Academy, Le Clerc
College and St. Louis University. She taught at East St. Louis Senior High
School for 20 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Louise, nee Cleary,
Schneider; her brothers, George L. and Robert Schneider; and her sister, Dorothy
Schneider.
Surviving are her sister, Margaret "Peggy" Schneider of Fairview Heights, Ill.
She was a loving aunt, great-aunt and friend.
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or to Catholic Urban
Programs. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at

Funeral: There will be no visitation. Private family services will be held.
Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
