Elizabeth Hayes, "Betty Ann", nee Fritsch, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, peacefully at home.


Betty Ann graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame in Belleville, Ill., received a bachelor's degree in English and Theatre from Maryville University, where she was elected student body president and later served as president of the Maryville Alumni Board; received her master's degree in communications from Denver University.


For many years she was a free-lance journalist and at the time of her death, she was the Director of Sales and Business Development for Cultural Care Au Pair of Cambridge, Mass. She was a woman of accomplishment who loved well and was well-loved. She was faithful always to her family, friends, and the Catholic Faith of our Fathers. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Kilian and Mary Shaughnessy Fritsch of Belleville, Ill.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 38 years, Robert J. Hayes; children, Robert (Angelica) Hayes, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth (Don) Fox of Webster Groves, Mo., Michael Hayes of Webster Groves, Mo., and Mary Ann (Joe) Foppe of Richmond Heights, Mo.; nine grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Mary Kay Mann of Morristown, N.J., Dr. Kilian (Sandy) Fritsch of Philadelphia, Pa., Jeanne (Bill) Dahlmann of Belleville, Ill., Susanne Fritsch of Richmond Heights, Mo., Margaret (Jack) Juelich of Chesterfield, Mo., Patricia (Jim) Woolford of Belleville, Ill., and John (Alex) Fritsch of Redwood City, Calif.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood, Mo.

Funeral: Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday Nov. 23, 2009, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 17 Joy Ave., Webster Groves, Mo.
