Teddy Bear Tea Party
November, 2008 at the St. Clair County Country Club
This has to top one of my most pleasurable storytelling performances. It was held for the new hospice room at St. Elizabeth's hospital. I didn't want to charge, so I asked if I could bring Drew to the tea party. She looked so grown-up in her velvet and cream dress. The country club outdid themselves in decorating - from the tables to the silent auction to the tables filled with yummy food. The little girls and the few boys who came were dressed in such a variety of fun and fancy clothes. Mothers and Grandmothers were dressed also. I told three stories with bears in them - Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The True Teddy Bear, and the Schnook Family (as bears). They were a good and responsive group. Such fun. Amy came with me and took some pictures. Here are some:
Almost too pretty to touch
I really like the pink stuff, but my giraffe likes the PBJ! Smiling pretty for her Aunt Amy!
Grandma and her pretty girl Do you think it is too much with this dress?
Excuse me, is this seat taken?
I'll have some tea and crumpets, please
Too much party for Teddy and Drew
