When I was one
I had just begun
When I was two
I was nearly new
When I was three
I was hardly me
When I was four
I was not much more
When I was five
I was just alive
But now I am six,
I'm as clever as clever;
so I think I'll be six now
for ever and ever
How these two pictures capture our Drew! One minute she is an A-Dora-ble Explorer and the next she is posing for a magazine. She's a mixture of Amelia Earhart and Hannah Montana. Every day, it's "What next, Grandma?" The summer she turned six we had lots of adventure. She went swimming at Splash City and amazed her teacher as she fearlessly dove down into the pool. She learned many new swimming techniques and practiced them every chance she got - Uncle Ken's, Aunt Mimi's, and even the new pool at our house that Grandpa wrestled with so could swim at our house. She also had T-Ball and Soccer practices...will she pursue team sports? We shall see. We went to many storytimes at the library and attended the Wednesday programs - puppet show, ventriloquist, and her favorite...Bobaloo! We went on picnics at Moody Park and fed the geese and went to visit Hazel next door to see "Baby Lucas." She is starting to read now and made her way through the Dick and Jane series. She still loves to draw pictures - happy pictures filled with smiling people, rainbows and the sun. She also likes to play games...but really REALLY likes to win...NOT lose. When she entered first grade she looked like such a big girl in her new uniform. She's on to a life time of learning.
